Three New Frequency Ranges Join the API Technologies Line of Tunable Filters

ORLANDO, FL — AUGUST 18, 2011 — API Technologies Corp., a provider of electronic systems, subsystems, RF, and secure systems for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications, announced today three new frequency ranges for its family of API™ Tunable Filters: 30-88 MHz (AP-mini-30-88), 90-200 MHz (AP-mini-90-200), and 200-400 MHz (AP-mini-200-400). These digitally-tuned bandpass filters are ideal for military radio applications and join the previously released 30-90 MHz model (AP-mini-30-90).

"The API line of tunable filters operate over several frequency ranges and are particularly well suited for military radio applications where tuning across a precise frequency is essential," said Jim Fisher, Director of Engineering, Systems and Subsystems Solutions Division, API Technologies. "With a tuning speed of less than ten microseconds and weighing only 60 grams, they can be used as drop-in replacements to competitors’ tunable bandpass filters."

TEW-5550 Series Input Transformer

TEW-5550 is designed to be used as a receive transformer in the following applications on 75 ohm coaxial lines.

  • T3/DS3 44.736 MBPS
  • E3 34.368 MBPS
  • STS-1 51.84 MBPS

Approved for use with:

  • SSI 78P2362

TEW-5549 Series Output Transformer

TEW-5549 is designed to be used, as a transmit transformer in the following applications on 75 ohm coaxial lines.

TEW-5532 Series Matching Transformer

TEW-5532 is specifically designed to match a 120 ohm twisted pair to a 75 ohm coaxial line in the CEPT trunk. Applications:
