CAC/PIV Card Reader Makes Any Printer or Multi Function Device a Secure, Print-on-demand Device

ORLANDO, FL — August 22, 2011 — API Technologies Corp. , a provider of electronic systems, subsystems, RF, and secure systems for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications, announced today that its Netgard™ MFD can now enable multi-function devices (MFD) with secure print release capabilities. The Netgard MFD will be on display at Booth #636 at LandWarNet, August 23-25 in Tampa, FL.

When used with workflow software, the Netgard MFD allows U.S. Department of Defense ("DoD") employees to send any job to their network print server and then print the document on-demand at any printer/MFD connected to the network by swiping a CAC (Common Access Card) in the Netgard reader. The Netgard MFD is currently used by the DoD to make previously non-secure MFDs compliant with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).

These digitally-tuned bandpass filters are ideal for military radio applications and join the previously released 30-90 MHz model (AP-mini-30-90).
