President & Chief Executive Officer
Robert Tavares joined API Technologies in 2015 as President & Chief Executive Officer, bringing to the company over 30 years of experience in microelectronics and semiconductors for both commercial and defense applications. Prior to joining API, Mr. Tavares was President of Crane Electronics Inc., a provider of microelectronic-based solutions for power and microwave applications to the defense, commercial aerospace and medical markets. Prior to Crane, he served in executive leadership roles in e2v US Operations and Tyco Electronics (M/A-COM Division) where he was responsible for setting strategic direction, expanding key customer relationships and successfully driving growth. As CEO of API Technologies, Mr. Tavares has led the company’s growth in profitability as well as its focused company-wide operational transformation to achieve a more effective structure and deeper innovative organizational culture. He holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Chief Financial Officer
Joining API Technologies in 2016, Eric F. Seeton is responsible for setting the company’s financial strategy and overseeing its financial organization, financial reporting and controls. He brings to API 20 years of experience in the RF/Microwave and healthcare industries. Prior to joining API, Mr. Seeton served as Business Unit Finance Director for Analog Devices, a $3 billion manufacturer of integrated circuits, and as Director of Finance for Hittite Microwave Corporation, which was acquired by Analog Devices in 2014. Prior to his tenure at Hittite, he served in various leadership roles in the finance organizations of Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble (formerly The Gillette Company). Mr. Seeton holds an MBA degree from Cornell University and a B.S. degree in Accounting from Bentley University.
Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Michael Schwarm leads API Technologies' global Sales and Marketing team, and is responsible for customer engagement, sales effectiveness, and global brand presence. He brings more than 20 years’ experience leading organizations in executing growth strategies, driving customer value, and delivering components, subsystems, systems and solutions for defense and commercial applications, both domestic and international. Before joining API in 2018, Mr. Schwarm led sales efforts for Cobham Advanced Electronics Solutions and Antenna Research Associates, supporting both domestic and international customers. Prior to that, he served in leadership roles at DRS Technologies and BAE Systems. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and is a veteran of the US Army.

Laura Reeder has been with API Technologies since 2014 as leader of its Human Resources organization and strategy. She brings to her role extensive experience across multiple industries, from banking and education to technology. Before joining API, she was Senior Director, Human Resources, leading all Recruiting and Human Resources functions at K12, Inc. Ms. Reeder’s expertise includes planning and executing HR activities for acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational consolidations as well as key initiatives supporting cultural transition, reward and recognition programs and comprehensive benefit and compensation platforms. Laura Reeder holds a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Rochester.
