ORLANDO, FL and GLOUCESTER, UK — JUNE 28, 2011 — API Technologies Corp., a provider of electronic systems, subsystems, RF, and secure systems for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications, announced today the wide availability of the world’s lightest TEMPEST laptop, part of the Company’s Secure Systems &Technologies (SST™) line of TEMPEST products. The SN9200TF is based on the Getac 9213 Notebook and weighs less than 3 kg (about 6.5 lbs).
"This is the lightest TEMPEST Level A laptop on the market today defying the accepted view that TEMPEST products are heavy and unwieldy,” said Matthew Richards, SST Managing Director. “In fact, the next lightest laptop with a comparable screen weighs in at a whole kilogram (about 2 lbs) more.”
The SN9200TF has a 13.3 inch LED backlit display and boasts a machined aluminum and magnesium alloy case. Security features include integrated fingerprint reader, TPM 1.2 module, and an integrated token reader for the Encrypted hard drive option. Smart card readers and other interface modules are also available extending functionality and adding flexibility for customization.
TEMPEST products are used by governments and government contractors for processing classified information. The TEMPEST Certification Programs are managed by the National Security Agency (NSA).
API Technologies offers a full-line of TEMPEST products under the Cryptek™ (USA), EMCON® (Canada), and SST™ (Europe) brands. For ordering information, contact your local office, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
