Surface Mount EMI Filters

Three Terminal Chips offer a superior ability to withstand transient voltages and surges and deliver excellent filtering performance in high current applications while providing exceptional solderability and resistance to solder heat.

The SA Series of EMI filter arrays incorporate (4) three-terminal chips in one compact footprint. These surface-mount filter arrays are structured to minimize the residual inductance and ensure large insertion loss in the wideband.

Storage Precautions

Deterioration of solderability can be caused by oxidization/sulfurization due to the high temperature, high humidity, or chlorine/sulfur gas. Parts should be used within 6 months, if possible and stored below 40°C and below 70% RH in an atmosphere free of sulfur, chlorine, or toxic gasses.

These EMI filters are made of ceramic material. Please avoid dropping or other mechanical shocks that could damage the parts.

The products kept in your storage for over 6 months should be used only after checking solderability.

Precautions for safety use

These products are designed and manufactured for use in ordinary electronic products. Performance deterioration or failure is possible, depending on the application they are being used. The capacitor itself will generate heat due to excessive current.  Therefore, the circuit board could be damaged by fire. Please talk to Spectrum Control if your intent is to use these products in applications or products that require high quality and reliability, or where product defects or its misconduct might directly or indirectly threaten human life, hurt the human body, damage properties, or may cause a social problem.  Please consult the sales offices and product team well in advance.  Applications include:

  • Aerospace equipment
  • Submarine equipment (submarine repeater, work equipment which used in the sea, etc.)
  • An atomic power control system
  • Vehicle instrument, including its accessories
  • Fuel control equipment
  • Other transportation equipment (vehicles, airplanes, trains, vessels, and traffic rights, etc.)
  • Safety equipment
  • Medical equipment (life-support equipment etc.)
  • Power generation control equipment
  • Disaster prevention and security equipment
  • Military and the Defense Agency applications
  • Information processing equipment (communications infrastructure, etc.)
  • Other equipment requiring the same quality and reliability as above equipment

When using these products in circuit designs, end-users need to contact Spectrum Control immediately if the products are having any problems. The safety of these products must be kept in the sufficient, fail-safe design by securing the circuit protection.  These precautions must be taken into consideration in order to maintain the safety of the complete system.
