High Reliability Fixed Attenuators

High-reliability fixed attenuators meet or exceed requirements imposed by both government and commercial manufacturers. These products are designed with improved product reliability with evolving concepts to meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-3933.

Spectrum Control offers Weinschel products with standard attenuation (dB) values across a frequency range of 18 to 40 GHz (DC) and a power rating of up to 25 Watts. High-reliability fixed attenuators are suitable for both airborne and space applications.

Hi-Rel fixed attenuators always involves additional care, handling, quality control, inspection, and testing. This means more time and attention is required to produce a Hi-Rel component, but it is well worth the effort for a superior product. All Hi-Rel assembly and testing are performed in a separate area by Spectrum Control assemblers assigned only to Hi-Rel components. However, all fabrication, routine processing, and handling (unless specified otherwise by the client) are performed in the same manner as for all standard catalog equipment according to Spectrum Control's high standards. All Spectrum Control components are designed with high reliability in mind.

Most Spectrum Control fixed attenuators can be supplied to customer-specified environmental requirements, such as MIL-STD-202. Environmental testing can include shock, vibration, moisture resistance, humidity, salt fog, thermal shock, thermal cycle, film conditioning, and burn-in. Hi-Rel components have almost a 100% survival rate during qualification testing. Additionally, they can be provided to meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-3933 (fixed), MIL-A-24215 (variable), or MIL-D-39030 (terminations).

Hi-Rel units can be laser-marked and are manufactured from materials that have a TML of less than 1% and CVCM of less than 0.1%.
